I'm a bioinformatician working in the field of plant pathology. I'm studying the genetic diversity and the population structure of the main plant pathogens affecting crops and trees in the surrounding area.
Knowledge about the biology and epidemiology of the pathogens would allow us to develop a better control strategies, following the idea of the "precision medicine".
