Harghita County Council and Covasna County Council founded Csomad-Balvanyos Community Development Association in 2012 with the support of five local authorities.
This association activity is located in the Csomad-Balvanyos area, which has the unique volcanic lake, St. Anne. Our association participates in programs to protect the natural heritage, including the monitoring of the lake's clarity, the conservation of the Mohos peat bog, and the protection of animals and plants.
Located in the volcanic mountain area of Csomad-Balvanyos, interesting places to visit are the local traditional baths with mineral water and the pits. We participate in the renovation of these tourist attractions, including them in local and international bike trails and walking paths.
A new statute was adopted in 2021 and the main objectives of the association are to implement the Integrated Development Strategy ITI Harghita-Covasna, tourism, protect and promote the natural and cultural heritage of Harghita, and Covasna counties, and attract sustainable investments.
