I am Ms. Ashwini Thakar. I have been working for over ten years with “Mumbai First,” a not-for-profit organization with the vision of improving the quality of life in Mumbai and making it a globally competitive world-class city. For the last eight years have been working with the European Union under the Mumbai –EU Cooperation in the areas of Sustainable Urbanization, Waste management, Environment & Climate Change, Metropolitan Planning, etc. She has been actively involved in curating, organizing, and implementing various programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, studio Labs, and ongoing initiatives coordinating and networking with multiple nodal agencies and governmental and international bodies to drive focus on the agenda of development, environment, and sustainable urbanization. Has worked extensively on European Union, GET Foundation, BRICS, and UNICEF, amongst others, and various projects. I have over 14 years of extensive work experience in the Social and Development sector. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in commerce; led by my passion; I acquired academics in NGO Management from International Youth Centre Delhi and a post-graduation program in Development Management from the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
