Mr. Giancarlo Carrai has a background as users’ requirements analyst particularly in defining conceptual and logical models for the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and service projects, with 40 years of professional experience with different international donors: EU; World Bank; Italian Development Cooperation. He has a sound knowledge of all matters related to: data modelling and validation, quality control; defining conceptual and logical models for the implementation of projects; modelling procedures and standards (ISO/ANSI-IEEE-INSPIRE-UML-LCCS/LCML).
Mr. Giancarlo Carrai has in-depth knowledge and experience, with public and private institutions at all levels and a sound knowledge of EU Project Management including: Identification and definition of a project, competing constraints, customers’ requirements, liaison and satisfaction, business management competences, understanding of project technology, assistance in problem solving, facilitate group decisions, capacity to plan and elicit commitments, relationship among supporting technologies, resource negotiations, securing commitments, assuring measurable milestones, facilitating top management involvement, cross-cutting skills such as active listening, brainstorming ideas, conflict resolution, data-gathering techniques, information management including knowledge repositories, prioritisation techniques, stakeholder identification and impact analysis, “out of the box” solutions.
He has developed a thorough understanding of Quality Control procedures and Verification and Validation Plans with an extensive audit experience of Geographical Data and GIS.
