Workforce and Environmental Sustainability Initiatives in Greece is an NGO dedicated to bringing positive change in all fields of sustainability in Greece. Through our multidisciplinary approach and inclusion of all aspects of society, economy and science, we aim to create and promote new ideas and practices on a local and national level, in order to promote environmental, economic and social sustainability for all.

We're a multidisciplinary group from the fields of Technology, Chemisty, Medicine, Law, Sociology and Economics who have come together to create an inclusive approach to sustainability. What makes WESIG different is our commitment to treating sustainability as an interconnected web of issues and factors and aiming to create meaningful change to society as a whole, instead of individual ;Our members have experience participating or organizing local, national or international projects and consortiums, as well as advocating for change to varying levels of government.

ONGOING LOCAL PROJECTS

- Innovative Private-Public collaborations and alliances for urban sustainability
- School Sustainability League
- Noise pollution markers and inhibitors in large businesses and SMEs

 

ONGOING NATIONAL PROJECTS

- Our organization has a representative in the SMART CITIES  work group established by the Greek Government, aiming to boost the capacity of Greek cities to become smart cities by 2030

EUROPEAN PROJECTS

As a new organization, we are looking to participate in consortiums primarily focused on environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, social sustainability, urban development, Smart Cities, SMEs, Blockchain technologies,  innovative ideas concerning sustainability, novel ways of funding for private and public projects.
