Samer received his doctorate in Environmental Health Engineering from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in October 2019 and recently completed his research visiting fellowship with the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, School of Public Health, University of Montreal, Canada. Since 2016, he is working as a full-time Quality Improvement and Infection Control Advisor at the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The central aim of his research is to apply quantitative microbial risk assessment approaches to better understand the annual risk and burden of communicable diseases posed by the contamination of drinking water in low- and middle-income countries. He uses tools from environmental modeling, and epidemiology to untangle the causes and consequences of water systems contamination. In addition, he is interested in the synthesis and applications of nanomaterials in drinking and wastewater treatment. He has more than 14 years of experience in the field of Environmental and Public Health with local and international organizations. He is also, freelancer research consultant and training specialist with different national and international organizations in the field of social, environmental, and public health and conducting awareness programs about different environmental and health issues among the whole community.
