Association of Polish Commuens Euroregion Baltic is a non-profit organization established in 1997 to support the cooperation of local governments in the implementation of social projects. and international ones aimed at strengthening civil society and cooperation in the Baltic Sea basin. For over 20 years, our mission has been to actively support and inspire local and regional development by acting for the cooperation of local governments of Pomor. And (currently ABCEB consists of 38 cities and communes).
The aim is to build competencies and broaden the capacity of local governments, in the area of international cooperation. We want our members to start using the opportunities offered by international co-operation, to take advantage of the best practices in the development of local societies, and thus be able to better cope with the challenges of contemporary ;These regions opted to form a Euroregion in 1998, setting the basis for long-lasting political cooperation whose main scope is to boost cross-border relations for economic, social and political development. ERB has been the first euroregion to formally include a Russian Partner, proving the possibility to handle sensible cross-border issues or challenges in a friendly and trustful atmosphere.
We belong to the Euroregion Baltic is a solid network in the Southern shores of the Baltic Sea, composed by 10 members.
Actually we have 5 international project:
- CTCC- Creative Traditional Companies Cooperation (Interreg South Baltic programme),
- FILMNET (Interreg South Baltic programme),
- SIA4Y - The project Strengthening civil society rights by information access for European youth (Europe for Citizens)
-SB YCGN – South Baltic Youth Core Groups netowork (Interreg South Baltic programme),
- UMBRELLA (Interreg South Baltic programme),
We write and take part in project connected with topic of: youth, policy, international cooperation, SMEs, ;
The main result we expect is greater involvement of local actors (local governments, NGOs, companies or young people associated in formal or informal organizations) in international cooperation, improving their qualifications and knowledge, enabling the expansion of existing networks of contacts, while increasing their level of soft skills and ability to achieving long-term goals.
By participating in dedicated workshops, trainings and training sessions, we want to increase not only our abilities, but also show the practical dimension of cross-border cooperation and its benefits.
