The Mediterranean Institute of Innovation, Communications and Technology (MIICT) is an independent, non-profit, research-oriented organisation.

Our main objectives are to:

  • Compete for and obtain funding for research for its members to the effect of promoting participation in learning and research programmes from the various EU funding programmes available.
  • Study how Innovation, Communications and Technology are impacting the daily lives of those who use them and undertake research as to how the benefits can be partaken of widely and the disadvantages mitigated and managed.
  • Raise public awareness about the socio-economic importance of innovation, information communications technologies and broader technological development and adoption.
  • Encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge through innovative cutting-edge processes, greater and more prolific use of ICTs and other enabling technologies.
  • Encourage the advancement of empirical application of innovation and scientific advancement with a view to ameliorating employee productivity, citizen quality of life and economic development.
  • Instigate the development of the Mediterranean region and its transformation into a global leader in ICT, innovation and welfare-augmenting technologies.
  • Promote the integration of technologies and cross-fertilisation of ideas.
