CHA has worked with a variety of innovative social housing models, specifically private sector leasing and mortgages to rent (purchase of properties where owner occupiers are unable to meet mortgage payment and keeping them housed as tenants). We are interested in developing cost-rental option and in particular models that involve a contribution by future residents in exchange for a stake in the housing ( self-build). We are specifically working in Ireland, but would be interested in collaboration with other regions  on these issues.
