Date du début: 31 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The title of the project " We are Polish we are Europeans" The idea of this project conceived as the result of our discussion on School development strategy. Our school is rather small and located in a typical rural area. There are no factories and tourist attractions here. Therefore, it is not easy to receive any financial support for cultural and educational development of our citizens. Apart of the district community centre and the farmers wives' association, it is the school where integration society and cultural and educational development take place. Our school understands its great responsibility and tries to do its best to prepare children for their future. Our pupils' knowledge is very different. Most of them get quite good results. Those who have some school problems are covered by psychological and pedagogical support. Some of them also take part in speech therapy and corrective compensating classes. For better pupils, the school also organizes some extra classes where they can fulfill educational needs and develop their interests. Our schoolgirls and schoolboys get good results on external examinations, too. Despite the fact, our school is aware of its lack in a range of European education and linguistic education connected with teaching/learning English. The only foreign language that pupils learn at school is English. This subject is taught by one teacher. Due to the small number of students, classes cannot be divided into different level of linguistic knowledge. As a result, the teacher must use individual process of teaching. To do this properly, he must improve constantly his methodological skills. The headmistress and the teaching staff have decided to take some actions in order to make English teaching/learning process more effective. Moreover, in their opinion, pupils should broaden horizons and knowledge on the European Union and its countries. To realize that goal, we need to develop not only our methodological skills but also rise linguistic competence of our teaching staff. It is also very important to establish cooperation with others European schools as it will bring us a lot of advantages. Firstly, the process of English teaching will become more attractive which influences pupils' motivation. Secondly, our school and local society will become more familiar with the European Union. We have chosen the following teachers: 1. The teacher of early - aged teaching - Improving linguistic competence, Cooperation and working on projects with European schools. 2. The teacher of History, the headmistress - Improving linguistic competence, Cooperation and working on projects with European schools. 3. The teacher of Physical Education and Science - Improving linguistic competence, Cooperation and working on projects with European schools, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). 4. The teacher of English - The methodology of linguistic teaching, Improving linguistic competence, Cooperation and working on projects with European schools, We anticipate the following stages of our project. 1. The preparation stage. It includes some activities before going to the course: teachers preparation for courses, school's preparation for international cooperation, the mobility of the teaching staff. 2. The state of action. The realization of this stage will begin after our getting back from this project. It will depend mainly on: - disseminating the results of the course to the school and local society, - sharing our experience with other teachers, - cooperating with European schools, - making use of some English vocabulary during none English lessons, - organizing pro-European activity (English Songs Festivals, The Linguistic Days, The Europeans Cultural Days, Relations with different European peers). Project realization is going to be an essential tool of our activity. However, our intension is also to use some devices such as computers, interactive whiteboards and the Internet. We hope that thanks to them our pupils will be able to get in touch with their peers from other European countries. We strongly believe that, taking part in the courses mentioned above and involving in variety of tasks connected with project realization will be also reflected in the higher level of teaching English in our school. We are convinced that new acquired skills and methodological knowledge can be easily implemented into our everyday classes too. We trust that improving linguistic competence among our teaching staff and working based on CLIL method will also bring us additional advantages. Firstly, the process of learning/teaching English at school will be more intensive and school will be capable of realizing international projects. Secondly, both our pupils and local society will be much more aware of being part of united Europe. The events we intend to realize will also help us to understand the variety of cultures and European institutions.
