Bukhara State University. Established in 1930. Almost 8,5 thousand students. 1200 employees, including 700 teaching staff. 8 faculties (Social-economical faculty; Physics-mathematics faculty; Chemistry-biology faculty; Philology faculty; Pedagogies faculty; Physical training faculty; History faculty; Military faculty), 32 bachelor programs, 22 master programs. BSU infrastructure - A solar polygon, Research laboratories, Astronomy center, Green house complex, Sport hall and stadium, Dormitory for 1800 students, Publishing house. International relations of BSU - 1) Embassies of Italy, France, Korean Republic, Japan, Great Britain, India, etc. 2) DAAD, CAFÉ, Goethe Institute, ACCELS, British Council, TACIS, JICA, KOICA, ITEC etc. 3) The value of financial aid and equipment for more than 5 Mio USD. 4) More than 35 bilateral agreements signed with foreign universities and organizations. 5) Visits of more than 120 foreign delegations in 2007-2014. 6) More than 80 lecturers and 65 volunteers from abroad have had their professional activities in 2000-2014. TEMPUS & EM - 1) 11 TEMPUS projects (5 at the moment - CIBELES, ISMU, QAPD, UzWATER and UzHELTH); 2) 8 Erasmus Mundus projects (3 in 2010, 2 in 2011, 3 in 2012); 3) 2 Erasmus Mundus projects with KTH (TARGET – 2010, TARGET II – 2011)

Bukhara State University coordinated and was partner in several EU Projects, for example TOSCA, TRAGET, CENTAURI, CIBELES, ISMU, QAPD, UzWATER, UzHEALTH, etc. Within these projects Bukhara State University held mobility programs for BA, MA, PhD students as well as professional staff in the areas of education, history, psychology, pedagogy, economics, chemistry, biology, etc.
