Serdar Kenan Gul received BS degree in criminal justice from Turkish National Police Academy in 1996, MS degree in public management from Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey in 2001; degree in criminal justice from the Department of Justice Studies at Kent State University, Ohio in 2003; and degree from the Department of Political Science at Kent State University, Ohio in 2007.
Dr. Gul has authored several books and published many articles and book chapters. After working almost 15 years as a ranking officer at the Turkish National Police, Dr. Gul started working at the Turkish National Police Academy, Faculty of Security Sciences as an Assistant Professor in 2010. He received Associate Professor of Public Administration title from Turkish Higher Education Council in 2011. He taught Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Comparative Policing (graduate level) and Police Management courses. Beginning from July of 2015, He attended at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Dr. Gul is currently teaching Public Personnel Management, Comparative Public Administration and Bureaucracy courses.
