Rui Barroso, Director Digital Transformation at DECSIS, Holds a degree in BsC Computer Science from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa – Instituto Superior Técnico, with competences and certifications in project management and IT service management (ITIL). Rui Barroso is experienced in regional development and digital strategies, acting as Board Member at ADRAL (Alentejo Regional Development Agency) where he was for Executive Director and responsible for the technical strategy and support on ICT projects in Alentejo. He has been working in Alentejo since 2004 with a focus on ICT infrastructures and services to promote regional development. As major projects supporting the regional development the shared services Data Centre (shared Data Centre for 14 Municipalities) and Alentejo Central Broadband Fibre Network. Rui has participated in several conferences regarding the technical and strategic experience developed at the Évora County Digital Project, including several case studies and web casts.
Also Board Member at ADRAL, and Alentejo Science and Technology Park member. Regarding more relevant projects, design and development is experienced in digital regional strategies, managed services, FDI initiatives and integrated projects, RIS3 development activities, Alentejo Central Energy Efficiency Strategy (), FABLAB development, Regional Transfer System, ICT shared services regional centre, e-Health projects, Smart Connected Communities and Digital Agenda initiative, Smart City and Co2 reduction in Évora, National Startup Network member (RNI), EU Digital Agenda 2020, Broadband ENGAGE project.
