People in Need Mongolia

People in Need is a Czech based NGO founded in 1992 by a group of war journalists and volunteers who came together and decided to provide help in crisis situations. PIN has grown into an organization that has 1,800 employees working in 32 countries and to date has helped over 18 million ; We strive for a society that is open, informed, engaged and responsible with respect to problems at home and around the world. We want to actively participate in shaping a society where cultural, ethnic, racial and other differences are a source of enrichment rather than conflict.

Our missions focus around four key pillars:

1. Emergency Relief and Development Cooperation
   1. People in Need provides emergency relief to people during natural disasters or at times of major international crisis. At the same time, PIN focuses on delivering long-term aid to people living in poverty and deplorable living conditions.
   2. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) by working with governments, stakeholders and citizens on preparing for emergencies and planning on reducing the impact and likelihood of a disaster

1. Human Rights Support
   1. Helping dissidents and supporting civil society in repressive states and countries that are undergoing democratic transition
   2. Homo Homoni Award given annually for outstanding human rights contributions

1. Social Integration Programs
   1. promotes social improvement for the poor or vulnerable families through counselling and educational services.
   2. seeks solutions in cooperation with schools, local municipalities, the police and non-profit organizations
2. Education and Awareness Programs
   1. People in Need aims at raising awareness in society on issues such as poverty, development cooperation, migration, and human rights violations.
   2. One World in Schools and other programs use documentaries and other media to combat prejudice and xenophobia
