Mark Alter
Mark Alter is a Professor of Educational Psychology at New York University and was the founding chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning and served as Chair for 14 years.
He has an extensive record of publications , national and international workshops and funded grants in the field of teacher education and special education. In 2005 he was granted A Fulbright Senior Specialist award to Viet Nam, in 2007 was awarded The NYU Distinguished Teaching award and in 2011 was named one of the 50 Most Influential Professors in Education.
Alter has an extensive background in the classroom,. He is comitted to providing all students with an appripriate education ; a sound basic education and preparing teachers to be highly qualified practioners. Alter has a PhD from Yeshiva University in special education, a focus that gives his teaching a unique context.
