Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS), was established in 2002 with two faculties and 90 students in three bachelor programs. Within a decade, the University has evolved into a premier institution with five faculties over 13,000 students enrolled in 62 different undergrauate and graduate programs. BUITEMS is recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan as an Engineering and Technology University and also has been declared 4th best in Pakistan in Computer Science and Information Technology category by HEC.

BUITEMS has state of the art facilities including high tech labs for research and development that can used to support R&D projects in IT sector. From basic computing labs to advanced artificial intelligence and robotics, geographical information systems, as well as specialized labs such as microcontroller and microprocessor labs, BUITEMS has all it takes with its comprehensive knowledge and research base, and well-established ecosystem to support innovation and commercialization.

The researchers from English, Education, IR and Information Technology departments have an extensive overlap of interests with different fields of education, training and information & communication technologies, especially in curriculum development, capacity building of government departments and related areas.
