Dr. Alma Begicevic
Alma Begicevic studied law and sociology at the University of Melbourne (Australia), law, political science and sociology at the University of Chicago and sociology and at Loyola University Chicago. She currently teaches sociology in a global society and human rights at the Faculty of Sociology of Loyola University Chicago. Alma Begicevic has served as a senior advisor to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on victims ‘rights and a special Advisor to the City of Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations on Immigrants and Refugee affairs providing policy advice on immigrant and refugee integration in the city. Her research interests include transitional justice, law and society, human rights in particular reparation to victims of mass harms. Alma Begicevic is experienced qualitatived, ethnographic researcher and has experience in advocacy, legislative reforms, human rights monitoring, program management and evaluation.
