Agorà is an Italian social cooperative based in Genoa with 30 years of experience in health care, educational and social services, whose main objective is to build a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable community.
Our mission is to strengthen, deliver and coordinate dedicated services and assistance to vulnerable people and groups, including: education and decent livelihood opportunities for all; childcare assistance; families support; youth engagement and activation; healthcare and psychosocial support to vulnerable groups; social inclusion and conflict-affected groups’ integration in the local community; migrants, refugees and THB victims welcoming; women empowerment; labor market integration; social and fair tourisms.
We direct our action towards the most vulnerable people including children, families, disadvantaged youth, elderly people and persons with disabilities, persons in detention, GBV survivors, THB victims and homeless people.
Therefore, we adopt a community-based approach by guaranteeing the active involvement of beneficiaries, stakeholders, local communities, public and private actors in the planification and implementation of our projects and services.
The organization is primarily active at the local grassroots level and employs around 700 workers in the Region reaching over 14 000 beneficiaries every year. Agorà cooperates with local authorities and public bodies with the mission to build an inclusive and welcoming community while raising awareness among the relevant stakeholders on the importance of equal opportunities.
