CONCEPT NOTE
Background and Justification
Climate change and forest fires threaten ecosystems. In 2020, over 785,000 hectares of forests in the EU were destroyed by wildfires, a 35% increase from 2019. These fires release carbon, worsening global warming. Forests, which absorb CO2, are being lost, accelerating climate change. This project empowers youth to combat these issues through awareness and action.
Project Objectives
Increase Climate Awareness: Educate youth and local communities on climate change and forest fire prevention, aligning with the European Green Deal.
Community Engagement: Highlight ecological damage caused by forest fires and promote prevention strategies.
Sustainable Lifestyles: Encourage eco-friendly habits among youth.
