Most projects involving Innovations that envisage infrastructures or new plants inevitably face a strong resistance from local communities and prenure groups. This is sometimes Called the Not in My Back Yard or NIMBY sindrome and occurs even where evidence demonstrates that the real impact is irrelevant while the benefits for the community can be very positive. We have been involved in many conflict resolution processes and have realised that, in most cases, the local and wider community of stakeholders has not been involved In the design and selection of the solutions. That the solution has been imposed without a dialogue and interaction and that communication has been managed in a very inefficient, top-down way.

As most research and innovation of infrastructure projects face these problems we are happy do find together solutions that make them more efficient, effective and appreciated by the stakeholders involved in the process.
