Certification of Sustainable Biomass is a voluntary scheme that requires the guarantee of origin for biofuels and liquid biomass. This type of system includes the evaluation of all relevant elements of the supply chain (from the cultivation of biomass to biodiesel plants) to assure product traceability throughout the whole production chain.
The certification is an international scheme for all kinds of biomass intended to be commercialized as sustainable within the EU biofuel market.
