Together with seven colleagues, all presidents of courts of appeal from several member states of the European Union, we comprise the Steering Committee of the Conferences of the Presidents of the Courts of Appeal of the European Union. This series of conferences is held biennially, and the last one - the 8th edition - was held in 2024 in Bucharest, I being the main organiser.

During the Conference in Bucharest, we adopted a Resolution on Establishing the Network of the Presidents of the Courts of Appeal of the European Union, which is organised as a NGO. We would like to set up an exchange programme for judges at the level of the courts of appeal, to create an online forum for judges with automatic translation in all official languages of the EU, and to organise various conferences and meetings.

We have checked the EU Funding & Tenders Portal for the JUST Programme and we have found two Calls for Proposals that suit us perfectly, open until March 26th, 2025, and April 23rd, 2025, respectively.

A network similar to ours has applied constantly each year for the last 3 years and has been granted funds. The estimated budget of the project is around 250,000 EUR.
