We are a Spanish NGO pioneer since 2001 in Digital Transformation for Social Impact. We count on a network of 4,000 cybervolunteers,  4,400 grassroots organizations, and we train 100,000 people annually in digital skills. We develop projects focused on countering disinformation and digital literacy (training, social living labs, focus groups,etc.).

We would like to participate in the ESF call 'Action grants to Support EU networks active in the areas of social economy and social finance' as we count with the following expertise align with the call objectives:

  • Data collection and policy analysis: we have led EU-wide research projects involving the collection of data, development of indicators, and policy recommendations. Notably, through initiatives like "Empodera.org" and "e-Participation in the EU," we have implemented evidence-based frameworks for measuring civic tech impacts at local and regional levels.

  • Monitoring and assessment: our collaboration with public authorities has enabled us to monitor and assess digital inclusion legislation and its societal impact. We utilize both qualitative and quantitative tools to capture grassroots insights and emerging trends.

  • Capacity building and mutual learning: we regularly organize and facilitate trainings, workshops, and seminars (both in-person and online) on topics such as digital literacy, social entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Our "Train-the-Trainer" methodology is particularly effective in scaling impact in underserved communities.

  • Network building and cross-sector collaboration: we foster synergies across sectors and contribute to strengthening national and transnational collaborations in the social innovation space.

  • Awareness raising and communication: we have extensive experience designing and disseminating multimedia campaigns aimed at raising awareness of digital rights, social innovation, and inclusive technologies. Our communication approach blends traditional media, social platforms, and grassroots outreach.

  • Social economy & Finance ecosystems development: we are involved in ongoing projects to support social entrepreneurship and have experience mapping social economy actors, especially in underdeveloped regions in Spain and beyond. We are keen to co-develop methodologies for creating and strengthening national-level networks where such structures are currently lacking.

  • Commitment to cross-cutting issues: our programs are designed with a gender-sensitive, non-discriminatory lens, and we proactively ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups.

  • Digital and environmental awareness: we are committed to hybrid and sustainable delivery methods. We have produced a wide array of publicly available webinars, virtual toolkits, and e-learning platforms that maximize reach while minimizing environmental impact.

We envision our role in the consortium to include:

  • Leading or co-leading activities related to digital engagement, capacity building, and mutual learning.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of research, policy analysis, and data frameworks.

  • Facilitating connections between local civil society organizations, social entrepreneurs, and EU policymakers.

  • Enhancing the consortium’s communication, outreach, and training efforts with digital-first strategies.

We look forward to the opportunity to join forces and discuss potential collaborations further.  Contact: ana.valles(at)cibervoluntarios.org
