Project Description
The aim of the project is to provide the scientific basis for the training of engineers in the direction of the localization of radioactive and industrial components around the industrial sites of uranium based on the study of physical and chemical processes of migration of components polluting the area of existing production facilities and tailings in terms of filtration heterogeneity of aquifers and time-varying modes of operation .
This trend is dictated by the fact that in the Sogd region of Tajikistan there are 10 uranium tailings sites with a total area of 270 hectares with a weight of 54.8 million tons. A similar problem exists in the Central Asian countries as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Kyrgyzystan and other CIS countries.
It should be noted that today there are no experts in the country in the field of waste management, monitoring and radiation control. The existing institutions of the republic is not carried out the training of specialists in this area. To achieve the goal, we offer to resolve the following issues:

Activity:
1. There are special curricula "Environmental Engineering", "Environmental monitoring" Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan (and other universities of Central Asia and CIS countries that have similar problems) to introduce the discipline "Radiation Safety and Protection."
1.1 It should be an objective to increase the level of knowledge about the actual radiation situation in the uranium industry and the environment, the principles and methods of work with sources of ionizing radiation, a radiation safety standards and the ways of the real achievements.
1.2 Preparation of specialists able to evaluate the real threat of natural and man-made radiation factors, understanding the physical nature of this danger and able to minimize actual or potential radiation impact on the environment.
1.3 The study and implementation of advanced methods of disposal of uranium waste in order to reduce the load on the environment.
2. Carrying training seminars for teaching staff on the use of modern equipment and radiation detection equipment.

Results:
Training specialists environmental engineers are able to assess the real threat of natural and man-made radiation factors, understanding the physical nature of this risk and know how to minimize actual or potential radiation exposure
