Today, the IT and cybersecurity sector remains largely male-dominated, with figures reflecting a marked gender disparity in labour participation. According to recent data from the European Union, just 17% of IT professionals are women, and this figure drops even further in specific areas such as cybersecurity, where women represent less than 10% of the workforce. This gender gap not only reflects a social injustice, but also represents a significant loss of talent and innovative potential in a sector crucial for Europe's economic and technological development.
The project ‘Strengthening the Labour Inclusion of Women in Computer Science and Cybersecurity through Small Scale Partnerships (XXX)’ arises as a response to this problem, recognising the imperative need to promote the active participation of women in these fields. It is proposed as a realistic and concrete initiative to address this challenge, focusing on specialised.
