This is to bring to your notice that EU has launched the following Call for proposal. The European Union (EU) is seeking proposals for a program entitled “Enhancing Citizens’ Participation in Sub-National Good Governance (Local and Provincial Level) in the Context of the New Federal System in Nepal”.

Objectives

• To enhance participatory and cooperative relationships between citizens and newly established local governments , in order to promote and establish good governance at the local level, by, in particular, strengthening public governance, accountability and transparency;
• To establish instances of cooperation and dialogue among local governments, between local and provincial governments, with the sectoral ministries, in view of enhancing citizens’ participation and leading to improvement in overall service delivery at the local level and reflection of local needs in programmes and policies.
• To enhance CSO contributions to governance and development processes as actors in governance and accountability; as partners in promoting social development; and as stakeholders in promoting inclusive and sustainable growth;
• To enhance LA contributions to governance and development processes as actors of enhanced local governance; and as welfare providers and promoters of inclusive and sustainable growth at the local level.

• Climate Change and Environment
• Youth

The European Commission is seeking proposals for Enhancing citizens' participation in sub-national good governance (Local and Provincial Level) in the context of the new Federal System in Nepal with financial assistance from the "Civil Society Organisations and Local Authorities".  The full Guidelines for Applicants are available for consultation at the EU Delegation to Nepal, Uttardhoka Sadak, Lainchaur, Kathmandu, Nepal, and on the following internet site:

The deadline for submission of proposals is 5 June 2018 at 12:00 hrs Brussels time (which is 5 June 2018 at 15:45 hrs Nepal time).

An information session on this call for proposals will be held on Thursday, 3 May 2018 at 10:00 hrs at the Shangri-la Hotel in Kathmandu. Should you be interested in this session, please send an email by 17:00 hrs Monday, 30th April 2018 to , indicating: name, surname, nationality, contact number and email address of the persons who are going to participate as well as their organisation (max. two participants per organisation). No costs incurred by the applicants for attending this information session will be reimbursable.
