ALKILINC GREEN SHIP PROJECT 70% EFFICIENCY - 33% SAVING

Developed for a green and clean world. 33% less fuel, 33% less environmental pollution.

Background, Combined power recovery systems has been in use for nearly 40 years. Existing systems take advantage of waste heat of the exhaust line at a minimum rate and generate 10/15% added efficiency without structural modifications to the engine.

Our company ALKILINC has been conducting comprehensive research on combined power recovery systems to make them more efficient and as a result of our efforts we have developed Alkilinc Combined Energy Recovery System ready  to be implemented.

When used onboard the ships Energy Recovery System will ensure significant fuel savings and create less air pollution rendering the vessels fitted with this system to be accepted in the green ship class.

Added efficiency with  Alkilinc Combined Power Recovery System; exhaust temperature of a typical 4-stroke engine is about 500 degrees Celsius, which is sufficient to ensure 50% added yield.

exhaust temperature of a typical 2-stroke engine is about 400 degrees Celsius which can provide an added efficiency of 40%.

Once the system is projected and parts are manufactured, it requires about 10 days for assembly and installation of the system onboard the vessel.

REVIEW AND EVALUATION:

The examined ship engine is a 10,500 Kw 7-cylinder, 2-stroke engine.

The efficiency of the Combined Power Recovery System was planned to be applied to the ship and two different configurations were made to provide extra power to the engine.

The main engine of the ship will be operated at 70% efficiency with a power of approximately 7500 kW, and 3000 kW of additional power will be produced by using the exhaust heat and steam conversion during the operation of the main engine.

APPLICATION SYSTEMS:

System 1: (2-stroke fuel oil engine application) Additional 3,000 kW steam turbine power will be transmitted to the main shaft by a transmission gearbox located in front of the main engine. A total of 10,500 kW of power will be provided.

System 2: (2-stroke fuel oil engine application) 3,000 kW extra power can be used to generate electricity from a steam turbine, the produced electricity can be used to power an electric motor close to the main engine, and the power can be sent to the shaft for transmission. A total of 10,500 kW of power will be provided.

System 3: (4-stroke diesel engine application) - The ship propeller is powered by a 10,500 kW electric motor. In order to provide energy to the, 3 units of 2,335 kW (7,000 kW total) 4-stroke generator banks are installed. An additional 3,500 kW of electricity can be generated from the exhaust heat of the generators, and the total power produced generates the required 10,500 kW of power for the main engine.

ECONOMIC VALUES PROVIDED BY THE SYSTEM

The ship, with an engine power of 10,500 kW, consumes approximately 27 tons of fuel per day with an average speed of 13/15 Knots at medium loads.

The system to be adapted to the ship will provide an additional power of 3,500 Kw at 33% efficiency rate and will save 9 tons of fuel per day.

Financial value of daily savings; 9 MT fuel oil X 680 USD / MT = USD, assuming the ship is on a 20-day cruise, the saving figure is USD / month and USD / year.

Cost of ALKILINC Combined Power Recovery System: The approximate cost of the 3,500 kW system, excluding 7,000 kW main machine and 10,500 kW electric motor, is 3,600,000 USD. The exact figure will become clear with the formation of the detailed project of the facility.

The approximate price of the system corresponds to USD, times of the annual savings to be achieved.

If a 10-year low-cost bank loan is used for energy efficiency, $ 444,000 will be repaid annually. There will be a net cash inflow of 1,000,000 USD per year remaining from the savings to be made to the shipowner's safe.

Ships using this system will have a significant competitive advantage with the economic gain provided and will also be the primary choice of their customers.

Note 1. Installing the system on the ship currently in service. If there is not enough space in the engine room, an area as close as possible to the engine room, covering a 4/5 volume container in a warehouse, may be used as an alternative. A small amount of cargo space is lost

Note 2. New buildings operating on LNG fuel engines with the ALKILINC Combined Power Recovery System will travel at 50% less fuel cost than existing ships. Our company also works on this issue.

Green Ship Tax given to Shipowners; Additional tax to be applied to ships calling European ports is currently being discussed, and revenue from the new tax will be transferred to the Green Ship Project. Proposed taxes will increase port charges by 25%. DENİZ CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Our company carries out studies with engine manufacturers on energy efficiency.

ALKILINC COMBINED ELECTRIC AND HEAT POWER PLANT PROJECT

The power plant operates with Diesel, Fuel oil or Natural Gas engine with a power of kW.
It consumes 400 m3 / h naturelgas to operate the 2,000 kW generator, steam from exhaust waste heat is obtained, 1,000 kW of electricity is generated by sending it to the steam turbine and a total of 3,000 kW of electricity is produced.

Plus, 3,600 Mj / h ( kWh / h) hot water is produced and 94% efficiency is achieved in total.
According to the demand, the power plant can be installed at the desired power.
