Afroperuvian community represents 4% of the population of Peru, being the secon minority just ahead of the Quechuan one.
Afroperuvian people have been almost invisible for the local authorities and consequently marginalized from the public and economic life.
Our project aims to:
1) Build capacities to the local authorities to deal with the ethnic reality.
2) Work with local communities gathering their needs.
3) Create incubators to develop projects and prototypes focused on circular economy, social economy, and small entrepreneurship.
4) Train the participants in how to develop their ideas and how to apply to local funding opportunities.
5) Create a public-private ecosystem the ensure the durability of the projects from the incubators.
This schema is also appliable to other locations where capacity building of the local administration and implication of the communities are the main challenges.
We have as partners the University of Lleida (Spain) to develop the training program and NGO CEDET to engage the local communities.
