Knowledge Comes True As a fashion and art school with a long tradition and expertise in our field of education, we had realized the need to respond to changing conditions in the labor market and in society. To maintain a high level of expertise, it was necessary to teach students how to make the most of their theoretical knowledge so that it could be transferred into practical skills. Students who gained experience in their field of study during the course of their education acquired invaluable experience, especially if their experience was gained abroad. As a bonus, they also gained the language skills necessary to develop independence. Most important, however, was the expertise gained in their field. Work experience also allowed students to take part in innovative initiatives that promoted the necessary creativity, the ability to use modern ICT tools, both for their personal growth and their own expertise. Participants in internships with practical knowledge of all the areas that are associated with the creation of clothing, including design concepts, preparation for implementation, production technology, marketing, and custom presentation activity have had more opportunities to find employment at the European labor market. All this wouldn’t be possible without the support and guidance of well-prepared teachers. It was therefore necessary to simultaneously support the training and personal professional development of the teachers. Due to the intensively volatile conditions in vocational education and the need to maintain a very high level of education, vocational schools need to support the professional growth of their teachers, for example by collaboration with similarly oriented schools abroad. Sharing knowledge with foreign peers and seeing their ways of work and of assessing students helped the teachers greatly. It also broadened their experience of new, contemporary or traditional technologies, business or manufacturing processes and approaches to teaching students. We’ve had more than 15 years of experience in the implementation of exchange programs and we have already received the Seal of Quality. Therefore, we decided to implement a project at the same time for activities A1, A2. • We cooperated with 7 foreign partners /UK , FR , DE , PT, GR, FI/ - Activity A1 involved 34 students from the Secondary School and College in the technical field of clothing and arts-related clothing, its design and its presentation. There were four-member working groups of students with strong interest in their chosen field of study. - Activity A2 included 5 less experienced teachers who gained new practical skills through special short-term workshops at partner schools. The result was practical support for innovation and technical subjects taught at our school and college. In both activities, the result was improvement of language skills and the possibility to introduce evaluation and recognition by ECVET credits. • For activity A1, it was 14-day period of work experience at similarly oriented schools and workplaces. The basic activities for A1 determined specifically for each destination were: - Completely finished clothing designs according to the chosen inspiration /Design and practical implementation in actual practice conditions/ - Professional design books/visual presentations using inter media, the ICT / - Individual presentation on www.projekt - Individual and joint presentation of models for a joint fashion show /public presentation, resulting in internships in professional development/ • Through all the tasks in the project attention was paid to the selection and systematic training of participants in all activities to guarantee quality output that allowed easy but quality dissemination of project results to both our school and the partners at home and on the international level. The timetable was: 6-9/2014 project preparation 10 /2014 - 4/ 2016 implementation 5-6 /2016 outputs, presentations We expect long-term benefits from the projects, especially for its transfer into the teaching programs of individual schools and specific subjects taught.
