PROJET
TERMINÉ
Our school ZS Zazriva is situated 20 km from district town. There are 21 teachers and 260 pupils from 6 up to 15 years old. There are only pupils from Zazriva in our school. Many pupils have to take the bus to school because they have to travel from places which are very far from the school. The school is open to knowledge from all over the world via the Internet. It is based on Christian traditions of the village. It is paid attention to the same educational and learning component. It is necessary to prepare students for life not only in Slovakia but also in European Union. Therefore one of the main objectives of the school is teaching of two foreign languages (English and German). The school is also involved in several projects, for example: SME in schools, Cambridge English Penfriends, Modernizing education in elementary schools, partnerships with schools in Poland and the Czech Republic, Regional School.
The goals of the projects are:
- awareness and adaptability do diverse culture, perceptions and approaches
- the capacity for effective communication across cultural and linguistic boundaries

- learning to adapt
- open mindedness, respect

- learning of the new methodological methods, modern techniques in the classroom for ESOL learners, practical activities which can be used in the primary English language classroom to make English classes more appealing to young learners
The main aims of the course she has chosen are to provide visiting teachers with a wide range of practical activities which she can use in the secondary English language classroom to make English classes more appealing to learners. In addition, the course will examine modern teaching methodology and techniques in the classroom and how to adapt and create materials for classroom use. Additionally, I will be given the opportunity to develop her own linguistic confidence and skills in the language development sessions which are all created by trainers from authentic materials.
The teacher who was chosen finished the study of English language and literature in 2011. It is necessary for her to keep her English fresh and up-to-date and to have knowledge of new methods and techniques of teaching English. She is only one English teacher for 11 -15 year – old pupils. She is preparing for second attestation now.
The selected teacher is responsible, reliable, independent, meticulous, working on her professional growth, developing her pedagogical mastery for the good of the pupils and the whole school.
This teacher development course will breathe fresh life into her teaching. It encourages her to look at new ideas and new possibilities to liven up her teaching and will help her and her students use English more creatively.

After the course teacher will include her new knowledge into the school curriculum, which will affect the quality of education for several years. The school will participate in international cooperation projects. She will organize training workshops for her colleagues and, teacher will prepare the open lesson for her colleagues. To colleagues from other schools who belong to the Orava region, will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with new methods and knowledge. For other teachers in Slovakia will be created material (Word, PowerPoint), which will be published at the teacher portal www.zborovna.sk. The system zborovna.sk involving more than 50,000 teachers from 3,933 schools from Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland, and the number of contributions has reached more than 100 000.Whether the project achieved its objectives, we find out using multiple activities. One of the activities will be open lesson where we will be able to see if the pupils are happy, motivated, we will see the climate in the classroom. She will prepare workshops for school teachers, also the materials on the portal zborovna.sk. Finally we hope that student achievement will be improved. Completion of the second attestation will be another excellent evaluation criterion
