The project “Green economy- successful financial practices and trends in sustainable development” of State School in Finance and Management “Intelekt”- is part of the global economic trend in resource-effective and sustainable industries and activities. Investment in a sustainable economy allows creation and saving a lot of jobs, both in emerging and traditional sectors. The labor market needs specialists in the field of the green economy and sustainable management. Nowadays the traditional-industrial economy is part of the school curriculum. The acquired knowledge can be successfully expanded with competencies for resource effectiveness, environment responsible and sustainable management. The relevance of the problem and the opportunity to upgrade the participants’ basic knowledge are the main reason for choosing a topic for the project. This project promotes the acquisition of required professional and linguistic competencies, which will increase the competitiveness and the mobility of young people on the labor market. They will have the chance to meet new people and to gain a lot of experience; they will form an active attitude in social life and a feeling for European identity and residency. 9Th and 10th grade students will participate in this project, taking an initial vocational education in the following specialties “Economy and management”, “Small and medium-sized business”, “Customs and tax administration”, “Banking”, “Economic information technologies”. A 3-week international mobility is planned in Dresden, because Germany is the European leader in the sustainable activities. WBS TRAINIG AG is the host organization. The particular aims of the project include acquiring new knowledge; skills and competencies in the European regulations and international agreements about natural resources and the place of Bulgaria on the green map of the world and Europe; the institutional frame for ensuring sustainable development, opportunities for ecological development of the European Single Market, the financial decisions and investments in the sustainable economy, tax and other state policies and incentives, the economic value of the environment stability, innovative resource-effective business models, the opportunities for trading and technological transfer in the environment field. Motivated and responsible students will be included in the group, who are extremely interested in the topic. They will pass pedagogical, linguistic and cultural training concerning the topic and the plan of the project; they will work on exploring tasks; they will organize ecological initiations. It is planned to be created a portfolio of the regional ecological projects and creating a “green” map of the region. There will be visits in companies related to the resource and energy efficiency. The corporations are the most important part in the transition to green economy and sustainable management. When the project is fulfilled German companies in different sectors will be visited- the participants will be introduced to sustainable business practices and resource-effective business models in transportation, water industry, recycling, energy management. The financial management of the industries will be the main part of the project. The investments and their rate of return will be analyzed, as well as taxes and tax relief, and other ways for stimulating companies connected to the environment. There will be discussions of the transition from brown to low carbon economy and the sustainable management concerning the income, inflation and work load. The acquired ecological knowledge and attitude can be successfully applied in Bulgaria. Business projects for green company/green activity/green product can be developed. It is expected the project to have beneficial and sustainable effects of the personal and professional improvement of the participants: the enlarged professional competencies will stimulate the initiative and entrepreneurship; the developed language competencies will stimulate the learning of foreign languages; the requirements of the labor market will stimulate studying; motivation for active participation in the social life and environment. With the implement of the project State School of Finance and Management “Intelekt” will improve the quality of the vocational education of our students. Working in partnership with the host organization, we will gain a lot of experience with this transborder cooperation. This project will strengthen our positions across the educational, public and employers’ structures in the city and the region.
