zeitgenössische Sprachverwendung (Englisch) auf diversen Sprachniveaus (A1-B2)
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our private secondary school "Gymnasium und wirtschaftskundliches Realgymnasium der Dominikanerinnen" in Vienna intends to realize a project called "Contemporary English Usage on different levels (A1-B2)" in the upcoming school year 2014/15. Due to the fact that many of our students come from families with a high educational background, it is of paramount importance that our language teachers are up-to-date with current trends in the use of contemporary English, lexical change, regional variants, new idioms, teenage language as well as with a gender-appropriate and politically correct way of speaking. Another main emphasis of the selected course called "Contemporary English" in Bell College, Cambridge, is to convey practical ideas and techniques to teach the topics covered in the classroom, to reflect on methodology and materials used and how they can be adapted for the teachers' own classroom. Mrs Wurzer would like to organize this project next year. She is the only participant in the Erasmus+ Programme at the moment. She regularly informs the teaching staff of her school about the specific aims and objectives of Erasmus+. The realization of the project will be executed as follows: we are planning to focus our activities on one special day in as many classes as possible, "the day of languages" as we will call it. Additionally we will organize talks with native speakers, and try to rehearse and stage a play in contemporary English. These activities will be complemented by informing our students' parents in parents' meetings at the beginning of the next school year. The English teachers in our school are an excellent team and work closely together. They are all ready to support the project. Our administration and headmistress is equally positive towards the planned activities and will promote the purchase of appropriate literature and materials if necessary. We expect a sustainable effect and successful outcome of the project in various age groups and educational levels. We are sure that all the planned activities will greatly benefit the preparation of future language weeks in England or Ireland and our English lessons in school respectively. The specific skill of "speaking" will be duely revalued. Our school is very interested in making use of the many possibilities the new Erasmus+ Programme offers. We hope to mobilize many more teachers in the near future.
