The project had been created with view to helping graduates in tourism to seek opportunities for up skilling in finding employment.
The aim of the project was to increase the mobility of graduates, participation in vocational training with an international dimension and increase chances for employment of people involved in the project.
The project was attended by 20 Participants graduated from the county of Ostróda to one year after graduation courses. Partner organizations in the project were: Training Vision in the UK, Europroyectos LDV in Spain, Sistema Turismo in Italy. The project involved the exchange of experiences and information related to gastronomy , broadening knowledge and skills within the scope of the project.
Ostroda District is a region with great potential for tourism and hospitality, but also with large unemployment. The existing hotel base is continually being expanded. Participants in the project took 5 -week internships in the following areas : 5 participants - Portsmouth, UK ,10 participants - Martos, Spain,
5 participants - Rimini, Italy. The curriculum issued various forms of knowledge transfer that enabled the effective implementation assumed in the project objectives and results. An enrichment program with elements of cultural preparation helped to improve personal competence and intercultural project's participants and classes of business contributed to the professional activation and increased the sense of their own value and self-esteem.
Participants were trained in catering and hotel management positions so that to gain the widest possible knowledge of the specifics of work , methods of organization , information flow , principles of personnel management . Internships took place from Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day .The planned replacement time was optimal and implemented a wide range of internship programs and also allowed them to learn the cultures of other countries of the EU in a framework of cultural preparation .
The major aim of the project was not only to increase mobility of the European labour market and skills through practical learning, but also gaining a new experience in the field of catering and hospitality and enabling personal development to make people more employable.
Results of the project: project participants gained a unique experience, expanded their knowledge and professional skills necessary for employees working in their specialties in modern hotels and restaurants. This knowledge was confirmed by granting participants the Europass Mobility documents.
Thanks to stay and work in another country with different cultural specificity, different customs and mentality of the local population, participants took a great lesson in tolerance and understanding for representatives of other cultures not always for us comprehensible and often difficult to accept.
