The project titled “A hotel worker – the key to success in the EU” submitted by the Complex of Secondary Schools in Gubin in partnership with the Association France-Pologne Lot Lubuskie is the continuation of long-term cooperation, lasting for 25 years, between partners in the field of vocational education of young people. The project is mainly aimed at improving the quality of vocational education by creating the best conditions for participants to acquire applied knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications. The achievement of mentioned goals will increase chances of employment and improve competitiveness of participants on the European labor market. Project implementation will lead to improvement in quality and introduction of innovative methods of vocational education in Secondary Schools in Gubin. Participants of the project are to be students of both the Secondary Hotel Training School and the Secondary Gastronomic School in the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The vast majority of students attending these schools come from rural areas with high unemployment rate. They definitely have less access to the advanced technology development centers where modern management systems and advanced industrial and economic technologies are applied. The project will be focused on apprenticeships organized for young people in French enterprises in the hotel trade industry. Young people will get acquainted with the French model of providing such services. During the vocational apprenticeships participants will be given the opportunity to improve their professional vocabulary and get acquainted with French culture and cuisine. We hope that knowledge and experience acquired by participants will be transferred to our region by developing tourist facilities and hotels. It is scheduled that the participants will transfer information concerning acquired competencies to local employers who have taken part in creation of the apprenticeship program and have declared their participation in its implementation. The project implementation is connected with the Development Strategy for the Krosno community and the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The project assumes that 20 participants, divided into two 10-person groups, will go to the Le Lot department for two months. The project is scheduled to start on 07.07.2014 and finish on 30.06. 2015. The project has been supported by Local Authorities and the Lubuska Land Employers Organization (attachments are available and possessed by the partnership group).
