Administrative School of Zagreb is a four-year vocational school that educates students in the Educational sector of the Economy, trade and business administration. It is both the headquarters of the Association of Croatian Secondary School Principals, Association of Croatian Administrative Schools and the inter-county professional councils in Business Administration, English and Sociology. The school is a place for student training and exercising a profession for the students of Psychology, Sociology, Religion, English and Croatian languages and literature, and students of Educational rehabilitation. With on-going process of self-assessment, SWOT analysis, analysis of the success of our students at the GCE A-level and PISA testing, we realized the necessity for additional reinforcement of employees´ competences through the introduction of the European dimension of education and development including the cooperation with various international institutions. As Croatia has recently launched a comprehensive curricular reform, we expect major changes that will directly affect our daily work in the classroom in the near future. The consequences of the refugee crisis, the rapid development of IC technologies and the rapid changes in the labor market emphasize the need to change the approach to the traditional way of teaching and learning. Comprehensive curricular reform promotes multiculturalism, collaborative, peer and lifelong learning and continuous professional development of teachers. Therefore we find it necessary to learn from foreign colleagues, to get acquainted with different educational systems, adopt positive examples of implementation, develop a network of international contacts, and then implement the acquired knowledge in the school curriculum using them on daily basis. The main activities include professional development of the quality team members in the form of seven individual mobilities. The team members will attend structured courses in Ireland and Iceland, which consist of lectures, workshops, visiting educational institutions and participation in class, and each member of the team will focus on specifics related to his/her field of work. As the organizers of professional training have a wide experience in implementing quality programs for professional development of educational staff, the content of courses is specifically tailored to the participants′ development needs. All team members are highly motivated to participate actively in exchanging experiences with foreign colleagues and plan to use the acquired knowledge in the school practice. Using the newly acquired knowledge, teaching methods and techniques in the new school programs and the everyday school practice we expect a direct positive effect on our students′ success and satisfaction. Dissemination will effect positively on a large number of teaching colleagues at the local, regional and national levels. The short-term results will refer on improving teachers personal competencies such as language and communication skills in a foreign language and the use of IC technology. This will enhance our capabilities in the field of management, didactics, methodology and pedagogy. Personal and professional development of all team members will also have an indirect impact on the quality development in the general educational process at the school level. The expected long-term positive effects of the projects consist of encouraging personal and professional development of all participants in the educational process and encouraging the development of individualization and differentiation of teaching, which will help us create a modern school curriculum that promotes the values of modern democratic society, inclusion and integration, multiculturalism, peer, collaborative and lifelong learning.By developing international cooperation and expanding the network of collaborators, the school will be provided with many additional possibilities to design, develop and participate in future international projects of exchange and mobility.
