The project within the Erasmus plus program is a great chance for Primary School No. 9 in Starachowice to be a distinctive institution among others in Starachowice district and to operate at a high level thanks to the implementation of innovative curricula based on knowledge and skills acquired during abroad training course on work with a student with specific educational needs, teaching entrepreneurship and creativity, use of drama and theater in education and therapy and effective use of computer tools in teaching writing and reading.
The main objectives of the project are:
-development of professional skills and gaining new practical experience (such as how teach students to learn, effective use of ICT tools, how to apply the elements of drama / theater) that motivate students to action and creativity;
-improvement of methods and forms of work, with particular emphasis on pupil with special educational needs and their inclusion;
-skills improvement to use modern computer programs such as Weebly, Prezi, Wordle, Scratch, Schoology, Audacity.
The specific objectives are:
- including elements of drama, theater in education and therapy;
-develpment of language skills competence of participants, increase of intercultural competences among participants, school staff, students and parents;
-raising motivation in teachers of Primary School no 9 to develope their qualifications and increase their involvement in the realization of international projects;
-creating innovative content and methodology, including one on the use of the elements of drama / theater in education and upbringing, and report it as an example of good practice;
-popularizing the attitude of mutual respect and tolerance, regardless of race, belief, sex and age;
-participants self-esteem increase and motivation for further improvement.
The Project Team consists of 12 people. Among them there are: an English teacher- the project coordinator, involved in eTwinning projects; a speech therapist- coordinator of the team supporting work with students with special educational needs; a teacher working with students aged 6-9, the coocrdinator of teacher teams for evaluation and planning of school work; a Polish language -a therapist; a librarian -therapist; a history teacher - the deputy director of the school; a therapist working with deaf students; a nature studies teacher also responsible for school council; a music teacher, an English teacher also the chairman of the humanists team and the headteacher - teacher of computer science.
Identification of areas for improvement, the needs of employees and creation of the European School Development Plan allowed to identify and make contact with the abroad teachers training centres willing to cooperate and offer the following courses:
- Digital literacy for the collaborative classroom;
- European enterpreneuership education and creativity;
-Inclusion in European context;
-Boala's Methodology in education.
Above training courses will allow participants to increase and acquire new professional skills in the field of psychology, pedagogy, didactics, methodology, teaching, the use of ICT in the teaching process and educational work. Teachers will learn about the organization of educational institutions in Ireland, Latvia and Croatia. The experience gained will contribute to the enrichment of their workshop with new teaching methods, will increase language and intercultural competence, and the development of skills such as effective communication and teamwork. Participation in international mobility gives the opportunity to compare their knowledge and share experiences with representatives of European educational institutions. Also mobility is a chance to make new friendships, which may result in the realization of international projects. The acquired knowledge during the training courses will be shared with the staff of Primary School No. 9, and teacher from schools in a city Starachowice and its neighbourhood. The experience gained will become a driving force for students, motivate them to acquire knowledge in an interesting and attractive way, awaken their curiosity about the world and in the future will create equal opportunities in the labor markets across Europe.
