YW - MOT meets Pluscoach
Date du début: 1 janv. 2016,
Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016
PROJET
TERMINÉ
The objective of the project “MOT meets PLUSCOACH” is increasing the quality of working methods preventing early school-leaving through the exchange of best practices and idea's through two study visits (12-13 April 2016 in the Hague, the Netherlands ; 3-4 May 2016 in Kleppestø, Norway), with the long term benefit of reducing the amount of early school-leavers.Too many young people leave school prematurely running a high risk of being unemployed and socially marginalised. Fighting rising levels of unemployment – particularly among young people – has become one of the most urgent tasks for european governments (Erasmus+ Programme Guide, Part A).
Two NGO’s, MOT in Norway and PLUSCOACH in the Netherlands, have developed different models for the prevention of early school-leaving. Representatives of the two organisations met at the Erasmus+ seminar “Shared responsibility” in May 2015 and discovered that the working methods supplement each other. MOT focusses on working with groups and would like to learn from the individual approach of PLUSCOACH, in addition to looking into the IT tools used to support the working methods, evaluation, statistics and documentation. PLUSCOACH wants to learn in which ways a group-oriented approach can be deployed besides individual coaching, and how the amount of early school-leavers can be reduced even further, based on the Norwegian model.
Our project aims to enhance the competences and skills of youth workers by learning from methods in use by other countries. This directly corresponds to the objectives of Key Action 1, in particular the following described outcomes:
-Improved competences, linked to their professional profiles (teaching, training, youth work etc.)
-Broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in education, training or youth across countries.
Indirectly these changes lead to other outcomes, like the increased ability to address the needs of the target group (in our case potential early school-leavers) and better quality of work. We continue the red line of the cross-sectorial seminar “Shared responsibility”, as the two delegations of six persons each will consist of representatives from schools, government and NGO’s, aiming at strengthening the cross-sectorial cooperation on the local, regional and European level. In this project four young people are invited to join the delegations.
