Yrkesfagleg praksis i England
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In November 2013 the Head Teacher and staff of Bømlo vidaregåande skule visited ADC college in London. The aim of the visit was to find out more about the possibilities for work experience abroad for our final year "Marketing, service and safety" and "Health" studies students. The school has for some time been looking for a project that could increase recruitment to vocational study programmes. The aim of the project is to increase students' competence in language, cultural understanding and vocational practice. In addition the project will contribute to a greater understanding amongst students of their own values and attitudes in relation to other cultures. The project consists of practical vocational training for our students. ADC college will be responsible for finding vocational training placement and host families for our students. The project is made up of three parts: 1. Preliminary project (financed outside Erasmus+ resources). 2. Vocational work experience placement 3. Post placement project. In the preliminary project students will be prepared mentally and in practice for what the European work market can mean for them. All final year students in the two vocational study programmes will take part in the preliminary project. In the vocational work experience placement, selected students will have three weeks of practical work experience placement abroad. During the post placement project students will evaluate what they have learned, what competency they have achieved and how they can share their experiences with others. In addition to student evaluation, teachers will also evaluate the project and spread the results in relevant forums. The post placement project will involve all final year students in the vocational programmes. Expected result: The project will contribute to strengthening students' practical vocational competency by giving them multi cultural experience that they cannot access locally. The project will increase cooperation between students and staff in the vocational training programmes, which in turn will strengthen the vocational studies department at our school. Furthermore the project can increase recruitment to the vocational studies programmes. Potential long term effect: it will always be an advantage for students to have taken part in vocational training abroad. The project may lead to students pursuing further vocational training abroad as part of their craft certificate training. It may also strengthen the school's postion in the relevant study programmes.
