Youth Work without borders
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 mars 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The volunteer Serena Milano from Italy made from the 06th of Oct. 2014 till the 05th of Sept. 2015 her EVS in the host organisation “Offene Jugendarbeit Hohenems” in Hohenems. Anni Sahkur from Estonia did also from the 06th of Oct. 2014 till the 5th of July 2015 her EVS in the host organisation “Offene Jugendarbeit Dornbirn” in Dornbirn. During that time they supported their organisations and those teams in the daily business, tasks, activities and events what they provides for the young people. Through those activities the volunteers got an impression about the work in the youth centre of the cities also they had the chance to explore Vorarlberg and his culture! Both volunteers where disadvantaged candidates because of the job situation in their home countries! Though the EVS the had the chance to orientate themselves! Serena stayed after her EVS as Au-pair in Vorarlberg and is supporting a family here. Anni moved to London to follow there another education! Unfortunately Serena quit her project one month earlier as applied. Because of different points of views between her and her hosting organisation they decided together to quit the project with the 05th of Sept.! (More information you see in the formulary) For Anni and her hosting organisation the EVS was a big success, for Serene and her hosting organisation the project was a big learning experiences. But for both of them it was also a positive one! Both volunteers had the chance to get to know a new culture, make experiences in the youth work and with youngsters also they had the chance to bring in their skills and possibilities. For the host organisation it was also a benefit to integrate two young people with a different culture in their daily work. As already mention Serena stayed after her EVS as Au-pair in Vorarlberg, Anni moved to London for another education. The result for the EVS projects was that the hosting organisation of Serena learned how to handle different situations and to take more care on the volunteer but also to make clear boarders! Both of the hosting organisations have a big interest to take new volunteer from a foreign country and to give them the possibility to make some new experiences. Also both volunteers will spread their experiences further to other young people and will inspire them for the program and the EVS.
