Youth work is our future

Activity: The Stadtjugendring Würzburg has chosen to host a volunteer (Arnela Dzinic) from Bosnia and Herzegovina within EVS-program. The activity 'Youth work is our future' begins in January 2015 and is to last 12 months. The hosting project is the Stadtjugendring Würzburg (2012-DE-111) and the Coordinating Organisation is the Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken (2013-DE-100). The volunteer comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina and her sending organization is SOS Social Centre "Hermann Gmeiner" (2012-SI-15). Objective: Through the hosting of the volunteers the hosing project seeks to widen the horizons of the young people in the city providing intercultural learning, comunication with people coming from other countries, cultures and lifestyles. With the volunteer a piece of Balkans should come to the region and promotion of intercultural opening should take place. The volunteer from Bosnia will explore the diverse offerings of the Stadtjugendring, will collaborate and enrich it with her experiences, culture and personality. Project management: The volunteers sould learn about the concept of the institution and particitape in the daily tasks of the employees in the pedagogical field. For example she may take part in the activities of the member organizations of the Stadtjugendrings, work on the youth camps, help with children's cinema screenings etc. The volunteers are an integral part of the team and, after the orientation and introduction period, they also have the opportunity and time to realize their own projects. A regular guidance of the volunteers and support with the projects ensures a continuous learning process. Every volunteer takes part in a language courses and is a member of a network of volunteers in the Lower Franconia region. They meet formally once a month with the coordinators but also often travel together and take part in various cultural events.
