Youth Voice to Parliament
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 mars 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Youth Voice to Parliament project aims to improve the quality, effectiveness and impact of dialogue between young people and decision-makers through the training, preparation and social action elected young representatives around focused and mandated priority topics, taking them forward through individual meetings and a flagship event in Parliament. There will be opportunities for 394 participants including 85 facing difficulties. As the National Youth Council of the UK and the UK Government’s partner in Youth Voice, we run a variety of programmes to help young people engage with decision-makers. We support the Local Youth Council Network, Young Mayors Network, and the UK Youth Parliament. In this role, we offer a range of support to these networks in the form of online resources, advice and guidance and two annual national meetings for Members of the UK Youth Parliament. This project is about using those foundations for social action and dialogue with decision makers - including those who would not otherwise have the opportunity - in a way that brings about change and challenges the perception of young people be decisions makers - to regard them as partners in change.[In the year preceding the UK hosting of the EU Presidency we aim for this initiative to be a suitable foundation and preparation for further youth engagement - by sharing and representing youth issues with peers in Europe, with a view to replicating the project in that context in a future proposal]We will support, enable , build capacity, and engage young people in meaningful dialogue, and social action with a view to informing an influencing public policy with ongoing impact - both for those involved and the communities in which they live. We hope that by capturing the experience disseminating outcomes in creative ways the young leaders will inspire others to copy and follow on their example, and for decision makers to by impressed enough to listen and respond - not only to listen and engage - but to act.
