YOuth Unemployment Reduction Network
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 mars 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The United Kingdom remains one of most attractive place for migration due to the relatively stable and high levels of employment and living standards, however immigration remains one of the most divisive topics in the UK. Cultural and language barriers have made integration difficult, and young migrants in particular have struggled to find suitable jobs. Negative perceptions of immigrates are still prevalent, 58% of the Scottish population have negative attitudes towards immigration. This project aims to bring together youth workers from 6 European countries who've experienced increased levels of youth emigration (to the UK, in particular) in the past 10 years in order to build a network for future cooperation. 1. To help young immigrants from the participating countries with their integration in the Scottish society upon arrival. 2. To raise awareness in each participant country of the challenges immigrants could face when immigrating to the UK and offer alternative opportunities at home. 3. To promote the European values of acceptance and collaboration between nationals from the participating countries by befriending youth activities and peer language education. The network of professional youth workers will address the new challenges young people are facing and thus give them more adequate support, the project will help youth workers develop an international understanding about the problems European youth faces in different contexts and thus it will influence their own work with youth back home. The network will meet for a six day conference which will focus on youth unemployment across Europe; workshops, idea creation, panel discussions and guest speakers will be part of the program. The purpose of the project is to create a new network which will be sustainable beyond the project. The information, data and work that each partner does will be shared amongst young people across Europe. The participants will be taking self-evaluation forms at the beginning and end of the conference, a report of the conferences findings will be published and key network partnership will be developed. The project will take place from the 28th January 2016 to the 2nd February 2016 in Scotland, United Kingdom. The participating countries are United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Romania, Poland and Bulgaria.
