Youth leaders in training

The reason for the project is that the youth work profession is in change and requires new competencies. There is an identified need, among employers, training providers and youth worker organisations, for proper vocational training and skill enhancement programmes to meet the new demands and challenges in the youth work. This new role implies accommodated educational approaches:•from activating to empowering •“participation pedagogues”•creation of political awareness (regional, national and European processes). The main aims and objectives are to clarify and strengthen the role of the youth worker profession of today and by thus increase both the job opportunities and the base for recruitment of youth workers1. To develop a consistent training programme for the training of youth workers, based on the demands of the employers and the demands from a society in change.- consistent curricula, learning objectives, pedagogy, didactics etc- clarification of the roles of the training providers2. To implement a method for accreditation of non-formal learning and competencies with clear links to the EQF and ECVETThe partnership is designed in the best possible way to ensure a broad implementation of the results. Three organisations are running youth activities on an extensive level. Three organisations are running education for youth leaders within this sector. OCN have a role to ensure the securing of quality and competences. Pixel is working with digital platforms and e-learning. YES-forum is important for the valorisation of the project on the European levelThe most important outcome of the project is to create a consistent training programme for youth workers. The result shall be possible to use on a broad base and for education on different levels in all the participating countries. We also think this will be the start of cooperation between the partners in the future where exchanging pedagogical models, working methods etc can be established. There are three impacts envisaged. Firstly a creative cooperation between the educators and the branch. Secondly creating a good environment for pedagogical development in the sector for youth workers. Then a concrete result in form of a training program.
