Youth inclusive: For mutual learning and knowledge building while drafting career guidance policies.
Date du début: 20 oct. 2014, Date de fin: 20 avr. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This six month project aims at empowering youth organisations to represent interests of disadvantaged young people in the work of the European guidance system and activization of all career guidance stakeholders working in this field for wider youth inclusion involvement and consultations. Social inclusion , Employment and poverty issues among youth, its economic independence and transition from education to the labour market are priority themes of the structured dialogue and the aim of the Career Guidance youth policies. Career guidance is regarded as a continuous INCLUSION process that should help young people become more conscious of their abilities, interests and possibilities, thus enabling youth to make decisions regarding education and employment on a qualified basis. Almost each European country has its own acts and legislation on Guidance for youth but our research showed that current most acute challenge is this: does the European system of Career guidance fully include and reflect youth interests and how youth can take part in shaping Career guidance related policies to reflect its own needs and aspirations? Can the youth representing bodies like youth parliaments and youth councils take part in it and influence it and if yes, then in what way? Mutual learning and knowledge building between youth organisations and youth policy makers on all vital aspects of the Career guidance system will enable young participants to become the forefront of decision making, maintain the legitimacy of the processes and act as trained multipliers in local networks mainstreaming the issues involved. Partner youth organisations from the UK, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova and Russian Federation working on the development of youth policies will research, exchange practices, undergo a Trans-national Youth Seminar and work together on encouraging youth inclusion in the work of the European Guidance system to produce an action plan for ensuring understanding of the important processes that go in hand by wider networks of youth organizations and governmental structures and policy makers. Experts and youth policy makers will be able to improve their understanding of young people’s opinions and needs. Young people will be able to better understand the dynamics of the decision making processes having consequences on their life, they will be able to influence, through commonly agreed recommendations, decisions to be taken in the future. Follow up planning will allow for the emergence of new youth representation initiatives in the European Guidance offers and widely reflect the needs of the target groups. Each partner will be represented by an equal number of participants in every stage/phase of the project with a total number of 70 young participants. Experts and decision-makers in the field of Social inclusion and Career guidance youth policy will also be directly involved in the Transnational youth seminar. The working methods will combine a structured exchange of experiences, lectures and inputs from experts, youth policy makers, resource people, work in workshop groups, simulation exercises and experiential activities. The working methods will vary in order to ensure a balance between theory and practice. The Meeting will also create a facilitated forum for discussions in which participants will be able to exchange experiences of empowerment practices and gain specific information and training on the topic of the Meeting backed up with links to resources. Part of the programme is specifically aimed at creating new projects and collaboration among participants and their organizations to ensure collective follow up activities.
