The project "Youth fosters intercultural dialogue in Saintes" is a EVS project for a young European volunteer girl from Germany at the l'Abbaye aux Dames, la Cité musicale de Saintes (www.abbayeauxdames.org). The Abbaye aux Dames is accredited as youth volunteering organisation under the number: 2015-1-FR02-KA110-009814The Abbaye aux Dames participates in the EVS program since 2010.It is essential to build an Europe for the citizens that acts concretely to take together the different cultures that forms the European identity. Since its foundation, the Abbaye aux Dames contributes to the intercultural dialogue. It realises the activities of the Jeune Orchestre of the Abbaye aux Dames that hosts each year more than 120 young musicians representing more that 25 different nationalities (Members States of the European Union, but also from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Russia, Israël, China, Japon, Singapour, Australia, New-Zeland, etc.). Each year, the Abbaye aux Dames hosts young foreign musicians and among which many students from French and foreign conservatories of music, organises cultural outreach audience development activities with local associated partners for the benefits of its territory's inhabitants.The development of the European cooperation is the core of the Abbaye aux Dames, la Cité musicale's project. Coordinator of the cultural interdisciplinary project "EUR-TEXT - Back to the future!" www.eurtext.eu - in the framework of the CULTURE program (2007-2013), l'Abbaye aux Dames would like to foster its European cooperation development thanks to the implementation of concrete actions dedicated to:- French and foreign young musicians that will acquire new professional competencies in terms of cultural outreach audience development activities particularly for the local inhabitants for the Abbaye aux Dames' neighbourhood (in the framework of a ESF project)- young European musicians that will develop their professional mobility between national youth orchestras, in the framework of the MusXchange 2015-2017 program lead by the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO) thanks to the Creative Europe program (2014-2020)- other artistic, cultural and creative European institutions in 2015-2017 in order to share good innovatives practices in cultural heritage interpretation at the European level in the framework of the ERASMUS+ / KA1 / Adult training mobility program called HIIP (Heritage Interpration & Innovative Practices) and for the development of future European and international cooperations,The EVS project "Youth fosters intercultural dialogue in Saintes" is inscribed in this context in order to contribute to the better understanding of Europe, to discover it concretely, to promote the European citizenship and the European cultural diversity in order to develop the European awareness and to contribute to this objective thanks to the implementation of concrete cultural cooperation activities from the local to the European level. The Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes would like to offer the opportunity a young European volunteer from Germany thanks to the promotion of the active citizenship, contribute to the intercultural dialogue. The Abbaye aux Dames would like to host JUDITH LENHART (DE) from the 05/09/2016 to 31/07/2017. Judith Lenhart is strongly interested by the artistic and the European cultural cooperation activities organised by the Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes. Judith would like to be involved in these activities in the framework of a 11 months long EVS at the Abbaye aux Dames.The activities proposed to Judith LENHART are:- Participation to the implementation of the administration and the production activities of the Abbaye aux Dames in the framework of its cultural cooperation projects supported by the European Union (ERASMUS+, ESF, Creative Europe, etc.);• Administration and development of its intercultural competencies: participation in the identification of pertinent potential European partners for the development of the European and international cultural cooperation of the Abbaye aux Dames, collecting of beneficiaries testimonies (Jeune Orchestre de l'Abbaye's musicians, cultural partners of the Abbaye, local inhabitants), participation in the collecting of the implementation documentation of the European projects of the Abbaye aux Dames, participation in the implementation of the cooperation activities in Saintes and abroad• Development of its linguistic competencies: translation of documentation from French to English and/or German, or from German to French and/or English- Secondary mission: participation in the organization of the other artistic and cultural activities of the association: Festival de Saintes, training sessions of the Jeune Orchestre de l’Abbaye, audience development activities in connection with the local publics in Saintes.
