Youth for Youth and Inviroment 2014

9 young volunteers from 5 different countries in Europe arrived in Denmark to be involved in 7 projects with different themes. Some gained experience and skills from working with either children or young people, assisting paedagogs and teachers in classes or creative, social and sport activities. One volunteer with worked with integration, volunteering in Trampolinhuset, participating in activities, meetings, preparing future activities, cleaning, cooking and helping with administrative tasks . Another volunteer worked in an international organisation, working with environment education. The volunteer was engaged in a broad array of work areas such as external and internal communications, designing and planning activities for programmes and projects, preparing and participating in various types of meetings as well as ongoing administrative tasks in the office. All volunteers integrated into local culture and population, learned the local language(different levels) and adjusted as well as could to habits and traditions. Through blogs, newsletters and information are distributed to others in order to dissimilate aquired knowledge and understanding. The main objectives of the project are: - active involvement of young people in civic participation in the community development by the way of non-formal education, - to promote international exchanges and cross-cultural understanding and tolerance, - to create the necessary prerequisites for developing of personal and professional growth. The main objective of an EVS project is a good impact on the volunteer, the host-organization and the local community the project is imbedded. To ensure a good impact, different aspects have to be considered: The impact on local community caused more awareness of ERASMUS + Program. The volunteers had the opportunity to use all his\her experience from the project, to create the active way of participation and develop competences which are important both as for personal as professional future. The involvment in the local community will ensure that both Danish and volunteer’s community will benefit from the project. Moreover the volunteer was offered a Youthpass Certificate which is recognized by the European countries and is able to contribute to volunteer’s socialization. After their return to their home contries they were evaluated and encouraged to compare thier experiences in another, a different European culture to their own reality and own cultural background in order to expand knowledge about European cultures and variety. They met with participants in other projects, so that volunteers to many different European countries will be present and a great variety of knowledge can be dissiminated. The volunteers were encourraged to use gained knowledge to the benefit of others through activities in our organization.
