The youth exchange "Youth for Participation in Environmental Security Challenges" enabled 4 partner youth organisations to meet in the Minsk region for 9 days in August 2010. The event gathered about 40 youngsters and 8 leaders from Belarus, Denmark, Estonia and Russia. Participants explored potential hazards that environmental negligence lead to and worked on plans to develop initiatives that will promote youngster's active participation in that regard. The methods used were non-formal education techniques,such as field trips, workshops and a variety of other tools.Its is hoped that the project will inspire the local youths in Belarus to participate more actively in environmental issues.While planning a greater dissemination and valorisation the organizing team will consider the tools taken from the Resource kit "Making Waves" developed by SALTO.
