„Youth for diverse Europe” EVS project will take place in Krakow, Więckowice located nearby Krakow and Tychy. Project itself will be 18 months long, however the volunteer's activities at partner hosting organisations will be 10 months long.„Youth for diverse Europe” aims at enhancing knowledge in the field of multiculturalism, European identity and solidarity, but also supporting people with disabilities and other marginalised groups. One of the primary goals of the project is to enable young Europeans to gain new competences. Nine volunteers from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Germany will be engaged in the project. Voluntary work will be realised in four hosting organisations: Internationaler Bund Polska in Tychy, Wspólnota Nadziei Foundation at Więckowice, Gaudium et Spes Association and Czulent Jewish Association in Krakow. Our partner hosting organastions aim at imrpoving the situation of the following groups: people with disabilities, socially excluded groups, seniors and minorties. One of the volunteers will support Wspólnota Nadzei Foundation during his project. Foundation is managing the Farm of Life in Więckowice nearby Kraków, which is found as an innovative project for adults suffering from autism. In order to facilitate the process of rehabilitation, beneficiaries of the Farm of Life are participating in therapeutic workshops, but also grow vegatables and fruits at organic farm.One of the volunteers will undertake activities at Internationaler Bund Polska in Tychy. Volunteer will support staff in current projects addressed at long-term unemployed, people with bad economic situation, disabilities and seniors.Two of the volunteers will work at Krakow's Czulent Jewish Association. Activities undertaken by partner are focused mainly on culture, community of Krakow's Jewish minority and enhancing tolerant attitudes in multicultural society. Volunteers will support Sunday School, Remu Library, anti-discrimination workshops and other projects performed by Czulent.Five volunteers will support Krakow's facilities of Gaudium et Spes association. Volunteers will assist staff during occupational workshop and actively help in the process of professional and social recovery of mentally and physicallly challanged groups in order to enable them to live self-sustainably in community thanks to the competences gained during the activities.As EU established 2016 as the Year of European Identity and Solidarity and recent migration crisis in Europe that became a crucial test for Eupopeans, volunteers participating in the project will meet with migration expert (European Parliament deputee, political scientist or publicist) to discuss the aspects of multiculturality, social diversity, solidarity and European identity with the background of current politicial situation in Europe. As a result of the meeting, volunteers will prepare a poster with infograph summarizing the conclusions of the meeting. Moreover, participants of the project accompanied by local youth will create „Multicultural Cracow” treasure hunt scenario and invite young people to participate in the treasure-hunting event, which will be followed by the summing-up meeting and discussion about diversity of Europe. We aim to reinforce the idea of the treasure hunt in the board-game form, which will be used as a innovative educational tool in the future.
