Project „Youth empowerment and engagement through Social Taxi“ European voluntary service project, which activities will be held in 3 Lithuania regions- Zarasai/ Visaginas, Klaipeda and Vilnius, from 15th February till 15th November (9 months). Project activity are orientated to modern society need to reconsider values and look to the social problems in a new and innovative way. Expression of modern and responsible society usually becoming ability to integrate vulnerable groups and ensure their possibility to participate actively in public and economic life. Social taxi- unique service which in Lithuania is working for 2 years already with aim to create ability for disabled freely move in the town, visit public spaces- cafes, theatres, etc. Service aims to look at the problem in innovative way by creating environment for active participation of people with special needs. During project youth will get not only competences which they need for further activities development and implementation, but also innovative attitude which could closely contribute to sustainable countries social policies and European union development. Project aims: to empower young people think innovative in social problems solving and positive changes in the society. Objectives: - Promote youth participation by improving social taxi service; - Promote youth collaboration with social vulnerable groups and in this way form youth worldview; - Promote intercultural learning between youth and ST service users; - Spread the concept of social taxi as positive example in youth empowerment for innovative changes in local, national or international level; - Promote disabled people motivation and participation; - Create safe environment for youth competences development according their personal expectations, through experimental learning and voluntary activity; - Create environment for sustainable social policy in European union level development by empowering youth for positive actions. During project 4 young people will rotate every 3 months and develop ST programme in different regions. In this case we will create broader field for international volunteers from France and Spain to get familiar with Lithuania culture, people and lifestyle. It will create possibility to develop broad spectrum competences, ability to learn adapt in different cultural environments. In each of the towns participants will be invited not only be accompany volunteers, but also take initiatives organizing service users meetings, developing and implementing innovative activities. All voluntary activity will be based on non-formal education methods. Project will have a significant impact for youth experiential learning, innovative and socially responsible personality development.
