Youth Employability Skills (YES) Project is created with the aim to show young people how to use the possibilities provided by various European programmes for the development and benefit of particular communities and municipalities. The project will be developed in multicultural environment of the Istria region, North-western Croatia, in a town of Vodnjan/Dignano. YES project will let volunteers not just become a part of the community of the town, but to contribute to cultural life of this municipality through searching for relevant funding opportunities and helping to implement cultural and educational projects. INFORMO, the receiving and coordinating organization, acts in the field of European projects development, addressing issues of unemployment, youth empowerment, environment, also consulting in the fields of tourism, entrepreneurship and vocational education. Providing information about European funding is one of the most important roles of the organization. Thanks to its constant contact with the municipality of Vodnjan/Dignano, Informo contributes to the implementation of many projects conducted for the benefit of the town. Other partners in this project are Etudes Et chantiers Espace Central (France), Stowarzyszenie Spoleczno-Kulturalne "Porozumienie Wschod - Zachod" (Poland) and Centro Solidarietà Incontro Ascolto e Prima Accoglienza ONLUS (Italy). Each of these organizations act as sending organization for one of three volunteers who will stay in Vodnjan for a period from 11 to 12 months.
Topics addressed by YES project are international cooperation, labour market issues and EU citizenship and awareness. Volunteers will gain deep knowledge of European, learn the basics of European project management, learn how to develop small municipality using European funding opportunities. Volunteers will enhance useful labor-market skills such as research and analysis, quality analysis, project writing, strong computer skills, communication and organization skills, they will significantly improve their language skills due to everyday usage of English, Croatian and Italian.
The final goal of the project is to sensitize volunteers to important social issues as mutual cooperation, solidarity among each other and respect of different cultures, in order to give them a clear perspective of the meaning of social cohesion. As a result of the project volunteers will learn how to contribute to the development of a small community and gain knowledge they can use after the volunteer service. The results of the project will be disseminated trough the websites of INFORMO and other partners, social pages of all of the partners, My-Europa.eu platform and local media.
Youth Employability Skills (YES) Projectv is a combination of many years of experience of the participating organizations, carefully chosen activities, innovative approach and inspired volunteers who are ready to make a positive change.
